Exeter Christmas Market
Back for another year, Exeter’s Christmas Market is sure to get you feeling festive. With plenty of food and drink stalls, as well as different stalls with plenty of gifts you won’t want to miss a wander through the Cathedral green. Open daily from 17 November – 17December.
Christmas Pantomime
Why not see a classic Christmas Pantomime? For some people this is a Christmas tradition not to be missed! This year you can see the following:
Christmas Selfie Land
Brand new this year, discover 20 fabulously imaginative Christmas selfie stations – step into Narnia, a giant gingerbread house or the Chocolate Factory, and so much more! Located within walking distance of Marsh Barton train station. Tickets need to be booked in advance.
Love Local Christmas Market
Come along and see some of the best locally based suppliers and producers from Greendale Farm (located in just outside of Exeter) at the Love Local Christmas Market. Free to attend, every Thursday in December 16:00 –20:00, John Lewis (High Street).
Christmas Carols
There will be 2 candlelit Christmas services on the Streatham Campus followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
Exeter ECU are holding their annual Carol Service at St James Park Stadium on 11 December.
Exeter Cathedral are hosing many different carols and services throughout December.
Plymouth Winter Wonderland
Sadly, there is no Winter Wonderland in Exeter this year, but you can go to Plymouth’s Winter Wonderland for rides, attractions, bars, live music, food, ice skating and more! Open from Friday 24 November –Monday 1 January 2024 (closed Christmas Day).
Festive river cruise
Enjoy scenes of the River Exe with a cruise and refreshments – the boats are heated and decorated for Christmas. This is a great way to relax and enjoy a different view of Devon! Find tickets and more information.

Christmas Light Trails
There are lots of options if you’re looking for some festive light trails to enjoy in the darker evenings! The Bay of Lights is free, all of the others require tickets.
GloWild, Paignton Zoo – an immersive light trail with live music and food too!
Powderham Castle – See the castle and grounds lit up for Christmas
Bay of Lights – this free trail along the harbourside at Torquay is back for its second year.
Twi-Light at Crealy – Go on the adventure park rides after dark and enjoy the Christmas lights too.
