Where to find
Depending upon what you are looking for will influence where you look for your accommodation

Letting Agents The council have produced a list of local Letting Agents who have attended training sessions run by the council in partnership with the University of Exeter. The training offers frontline staff a good practical grounding in the Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) – the basic standard for all housing – and other related laws.

There are a number of websites that you could use to search for accommodation, however these are run by private providers so we are unable to recommend the use of one over another but they are listed as follows:
- Accommodation for Students
- Easy Room Mate
- GumTree
- Room Buddies
- The Student Room
- Spareroom Flatshare
- Rightmove Houseshare
Social media
There are also a number of Exeter University Facebook groups with thousands of members that you could search for people looking to rent their accommodation.
Viewing a property
The agent or landlord needs to give the tenant 24 hours notice if they intend to enter the property. If you think this isn't happening this may be something to consider about how professional the landlord is and you may want to adress if you take on the property.
Can a new tenant move in?
A new tenant can move in as long as no one is within a 14 day isolation period for testing positive for COVID or possibility of getting COVID, but they and other house mates need to be extra cautious with a cleaning regimes and distancing and possible face covering to begin with. To ensure that the new tenant feels welcome it could be good to say that for a couple of weeks, you will keep a bit of distance and then be able to come together as a house more thereafter.
